Help Us Design America’s Top Dog Park!

Woman holds dog at BARK, initiative to Design America's Top Dog Park

As the dog days of summer are beginning to heat up, plans for a dog park to rival all dog parks are beginning to take shape—and Wyld Oaks is asking America to get into the action and help us dream big to co-create its design and experience. We want the experts—dog owners and lovers—to help guide the creation of this special place for generations to enjoy.

With the first week of June being Pet Appreciation Week, Wyld Oaks is celebrating from June 4 through July 22, 2024, by unleashing a nationwide public crowdsourcing initiative focused on co-creating our design for America’s top dog park.

Currently referred to as BARK, the future bark park will be located among the century-old oak trees next to Yonder: a nature preserve being planned inside Wyld Oaks’ vibrant, 215 mixed-use acres that will include two hotels, apartment and condominium residences, retail, offices, restaurants, and walking trails.

How does the crowdsourcing work?

As we embark on this new adventure together, Wyld Oaks will fetch the best ideas from coast to coast as inspiration for developing two bark park design concepts. Canine-loving contributors can submit their ideas via this online survey through Monday, July 22, 2024. From there, the design team (LRK) will use all ideas to develop two concepts for BARK. Once those design concepts are ready, we will share them with the public for voting and feedback to help guide the final bark park plan.

Ready to start imagining?

Picture this: a sprawling green space where our pups can run, romp, and play to their heart’s content. A pawsitive and safe space where tiny terriers and large labradoodles can explore new territory, get some exercise, and make new friends. Think “theme park” for dogs—complete with all the amenities pups and their people could ever dream of.

So, what makes a dog park truly top-notch?

  1. Safety First: We know that keeping our furry friends safe is a top priority for every dog owner. Top dog parks are equipped with secure fencing, well-maintained pathways, and plenty of lighting.
  2. Pawsome Play Areas: From agility courses to splash pads, every corner of a top dog park is filled with fun activities for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Whether your pup is a master of the weave poles or just loves to splash around in the water, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
  3. Creature Comforts: Gone are the days of sitting on uncomfortable benches while your pup plays. Top dog parks feature plenty of shaded seating areas, water stations for both dogs and their humans, and some even have cafés serving tasty treats for both species.
  4. Community Connection: A great dog park isn’t just a place for dogs to play—it’s a hub for building connections and fostering friendships. Wyld Oaks will feature apartments and condominiums, hotels, a wellness and medical health village, offices, and more that will amplify the connectedness and emphasize a real purpose for its dog park.
  5. Adjacent experiences: With a cutting-edge bark park for the pups to enjoy, top dog parks provide equally riveting experiences for their owners to enjoy. Wyld Oaks is being planned to offer a diverse collection of retailers, restaurants, entertainment, and recreational uses in the area surrounding the park.
